Activate/deactivate Template and Custom Element Types in Your Workspace
Important Definitions
Template Element Type: ITONICS provides several template element types defined by our innovation experts. They represent some of the most important things you should be looking at, such as Trends, Technologies, Campaigns, or Innovation Projects.
Custom Element Type: Using the Element Configuration, you can define your own types of Elements to create in the Explorer according to your company's requirements.
Activation and deactivation of element types in existing workspaces
In order to change what element types are active for an already existing workspace, click on the user name on the left bottom corner (1), and then go to Manage Workspace Elements (2).

You will see that the element types that were not selected while creating the workspace are highlighted in blue (3).
You can now activate/deactivate element types from the workspace Element Configuration by just clicking on the toggle in the top right corner of the element type (4).

Activation of element types during workspace creation
You can also activate element types while creating a new workspace. To create a workspace:
- Click on Create New Workspace.
- Provide a title for your workspace and select whether it should be a private or public workspace.
- Select/deselect the element types relevant for your workspace.
- You can also provide a description of your workspace.
Once you are done, click the Create Workspace button.

You can choose both template and custom element types while creating a new workspace.
Notes
- You cannot deactivate an Element Type if you already have Elements of that type in your workspace. If you still wish to deactivate, you must first delete all elements of that type from the workspace in Explorer.
- You cannot deactivate an Element Type if you have modified the Element Type for the workspace. The toggle for deactivating the Element Type is disabled in this case. If you still wish to deactivate the Element Type, you need to revert the changes you made before being able to do so.
